I spent the most relaxing weekend ever in Aburi at the beginning of the month! Big believer in getting out of Accra as much as you can, so during the long weekend my girls and I stayed over at the Vacationist, a new vacation home in Aburi.
Spent the most peaceful 48 hours I’ve had this month at a beach resort in Ningo Prampram called The C Residences & Resort. It was such a super quiet, super peaceful vibe I considered extending my stay. Ningo-Prampram is just about 2 hours outside Accra, which makes it a great daycation destination for those who dont want to stay overnight

Spent a few days in the mountains!
Hillburi, also known as The Resort On The Hill is an exclusive resort and getaway destination in Aburi that hosts beautiful weddings, work retreats, conferences and similar events.
The entire place has a tropical natural theme that is super relaxing; big windows, beautiful views and quiet spaces.
Started my week with beautiful views on a quiet and clean beach! Belleza Beach Club is a fairly new 5 bedroom beach house rental on the Kokrobite/Langma beach, next to Wakanda Beach. It’s been open for under a year but it’s slowly becoming THE rental space in Kokrobite for obvious reasons - it’s a lovely vibe. It’s perfect for staycations, baecations, day visits, photo ops, and pretty much any beach related activity you can think of.
2 things I love - meeting women in high places (it’s all the motivation in the world) and trying new cuisines. Over the weekend I got to do both - I was invited to dinner with the Ambassador of Morocco, Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil!
Thai food is such a flavourful experience. Easily one of my top 10 cuisines. Their food is centred around rice, noodles, sauces and soups, and is made with lots of spices, sharp flavors like lemon, and peanuts. Lots and lots of peanuts (it’s insane, almost everything has peanuts. If you’re allergic or simply don’t like them, you could just have it made without).
If you’re a fan of Thai food or interested in trying it, these are 4 places in Accra and 1 in Kumasi you can get very good Thai food from
Roadtrip #6! I love finding new spaces, especially out of town.
Royal Riverside Lodge is a riverside lodge which opened a few months ago in Adonokpe in Ada, a coastal town in the greater Accra region of Ghana. They arrange pick-ups from Accra, and charges for that depend on the number of people. It’s just a 90-120 minute and ¢100-¢150 uber ride from Accra Mall so you can easily find your own way there.
The theme here is simple - they’re providing you a space to relax. There’s a pool, a restaurant, a bar, board games, a lot of open space with views - everything you need to have a peaceful break from Accra.
Vacation number 5! (The plan was 10 for the year and I’m going through them fastttt) - Aqua Safari!
Aqua Safari is a beach resort in Ada, a coastal town in the greater Accra region of Ghana and is easily one of Ghana’s most popular out-of-town getaways. Depending on the traffic situation, it is a 150-180 minute drive from Accra Mall (I left at 5:30pm and got there a few minutes to 9:00pm). It’s a good location not just for overnight stays but day trips as well.
Super brief because this review was completely unplanned, but definitely worth the detour. Ankobrah Beach Resort is a resort on the shores of Axim, about 2 hours away from the Takoradi airport
They’re open for day trips as well, not just overnight stays and they arrange a lot of tours to places like Little and Great Ankobra rivers, Fort Apollonia Museum and the Nzulezu Style Village (the village on the river) and workshops for those interested in trying new things like archery and surfing.
Spent a few days in Kumasi and I got to visit the newest hotel around: Ike’s Cultural Village! It’s a boutique hotel located in the Kumasi Cultural Centre, directly opposite Ike’s Cafe and Grill and is a 15-20 minute drive from the Kumasi Airport on a good day.
A boutique hotel is a small stylish hotel and let me just say, I absolutely love the theme - the place is modelled around the clay hut aesthetic, but with a very modern twist.
A super-brief review on my much needed get-away at Sogakope Beach Resort🏖🏖🏖. Your girl has been working overtime, so this was perfect timing.
On the move again - Destination Busua!
Ahanta Eco-Lodge is an eco-friendly resort in the Busua in the Western Region of Ghana. The main selling point here is “eco friendly”, which is the term used for anything designed to do the least possible damage to the environment, so almost everything is natural and environmentally friendly. In addition to being a resort, it is also a professional surf school and camp with daily surf lessons on beginner & intermediate levels.
Glamping: Where stunning nature meets modern luxury. a way to experience nature without having to sacrifice creature comforts.
Also: Camping, without the struggle.
I’m the least outdoors-y person I know - I hate bugs, uncut grass, animals , and all related physical activity (The only place outside I love wholeheartedly is the beach).
It’s almost my birthday, and in the spirit of trying new things in my new age, I decided to start my celebrations glamping in “the great outdoors”.
Another staycation! (Not so) New spot alert - The Palms at Prampram! The Palms at Prampram is an out-of-town beach resort directly on the coastline in (obviously) Prampram. It’s such a peaceful place - far away from the noise of Accra yet close enough to make a day trip out of it. Perfect for mini getaways.
I had planned to end last year with a Kumasi food crawl but a lot came up, so this month that was the first thing on my list. If you’re planning a trip to Kumasi anytime soon, these are 10 of the places we managed to squeeze into my super short visit which I would recommend.
“Ibis is a brand of economy hotels focused on evolutive design with simple and flexible furniture and owned by Accor” - Google.
The staycation after the vacation. One can never have too many rest days, am I right?(no I’m not, please continue to work hard). A staycation is basically a vacation that doesn’t involve traveling. It can be at home or the nearest hotel to you - once it’s in the same town, it’s a staycation.

A Food Crawl is a “multi-stop investigation of the best restaurants, meals, or specific item on the menu” - Urban Dictionary
I did a Food Crawl at The Palms Square on the Spintex Road (so a Mall Crawl) a few days ago.
Fun Fact, The Palms Square is what many people refer to as “Palace Mall”.
Lou Moon is a luxury eco-friendly resort on the shores of Axim, in the Western Region of Ghana and is currently one of my favourite out of town getaways in Ghana. It’s a beautiful place with well-kept lawns, trees, absolute peace and quiet, beautiful beaches and extremely clear blue water!
