Tema Food Crawl - 14 Restaurants To Check Out in Tema

If I was born in Tema does that make me a Tema girl? Because if it does, then I went home today!

I spent 12 hours in my “home-city” last week, trying a number of places based on suggestions and recommendations and I came up with my personal list of 14 places to eat at in Tema.
So! Without making the intro really long, if you’re hungry in Tema any time soon and looking for good food, these are 14 places you should try.

1. Basilissa

It tastes a lot better than it looks. The food took a while to get ready but the waitress was really polite so it somehow made it a little better. Very budget friendly, they have meals from JUST ¢15!

Apparently this is their signature meal. Jollof with shredded chicken and beef, vegetables and kelewele. The portion was easily big enough for 2(maybe 3), and it comes with a drink.

The famous Hanch. It’s pretty nice(A little overhyped though). Extremely busy place but the service is fast.

I love Second Cup even though technically I can’t drink lattes (because of all the milk). I wing it once in a while though, and they’re one of my favorite places to go. Love the bagels too.

Starbites has really nice food, with a lot of budget deals(there’s always one lunch deal or the other happening). Good breakfast, brunch and lunch spot.

They’re delivery only(they deliver to Accra too), but they count. The tilapia was only ¢35, and it was huge. Very worth the price. They deliver Mon-Fri.
