Taste Of Israel - Dinner with The Ambassador

It’s been such an interesting week!

I got an invitation from the Embassy of Israel to a dinner event with The Ambassador of Israel to Ghana, Liberia & Sierra Leone H.E. Ms. Shani Cooper-Zubida, who is now my new WCE. Seriously, she’s super friendly and very interesting. Plus we have the same name!

The dinner, “Taste of Israel” was curated by Israeli Masterchef Kobi Mizrahi.

Thai Lovers - 5 Favorites In Accra & Kumasi

Thai food is such a flavourful experience. Easily one of my top 10 cuisines. Their food is centred around rice, noodles, sauces and soups, and is made with lots of spices, sharp flavors like lemon, and peanuts. Lots and lots of peanuts (it’s insane, almost everything has peanuts. If you’re allergic or simply don’t like them, you could just have it made without).

If you’re a fan of Thai food or interested in trying it, these are 4 places in Accra and 1 in Kumasi you can get very good Thai food from

Ada Getaways - Royal Riverside

Roadtrip #6! I love finding new spaces, especially out of town.

Royal Riverside Lodge is a riverside lodge which opened a few months ago in Adonokpe in Ada, a coastal town in the greater Accra region of Ghana. They arrange pick-ups from Accra, and charges for that depend on the number of people. It’s just a 90-120 minute and ¢100-¢150 uber ride from Accra Mall so you can easily find your own way there.

The theme here is simple - they’re providing you a space to relax. There’s a pool, a restaurant, a bar, board games, a lot of open space with views - everything you need to have a peaceful break from Accra.

Zubai! #ZubzzDotComTakesDubai!

(You do not get to judge the name of this post. S/O to Emefa Zormelo😂❤️)

Dubai is easily one of my favourite places ever! And no, not completely based off the fact that I have NEVER had to correct anyone’s pronunciation of my name but because its absolutely beautiful. It’s definitely one of those places you need to visit at least once in your lifetime - it’s like they took all the beautiful things in this world and put them in one place.

Ada Getaways - Aqua Safari Resort!

Vacation number 5! (The plan was 10 for the year and I’m going through them fastttt) - Aqua Safari!

Aqua Safari is a beach resort in Ada, a coastal town in the greater Accra region of Ghana and is easily one of Ghana’s most popular out-of-town getaways. Depending on the traffic situation, it is a 150-180 minute drive from Accra Mall (I left at 5:30pm and got there a few minutes to 9:00pm). It’s a good location not just for overnight stays but day trips as well.

The Date Night Post - 15 Restaurants That Are Perfect For Date Night

I personally LOVE date nights and I try as much as possible to plan perfect ones. Everything from the interior design (very big on pretty spaces), food served, lighting and music matters to me. Valentine’s Day is less than a month away and whether you’re in a relationship, single or married, it is the perfect opportunity to dress up and go on fancy date-nights.

There are no doubt a lot of places in Accra that meet all the requirements for an amazing date night and picking isn’t always easy, so if you’re looking for suggestions, these are my top 13 picks.

Lou Moon - Axim Getaways 2

Lou Moon is a luxury “eco” (didn’t see anything eco-friendly though) resort on the shores of Axim, in the Western Region of Ghana. It’s probably too early to call it, but I’ve done 4 reviews this year and this is currently my favourite - It’s a beautiful place with well-kept lawns, trees, and views of the sea and the beautiful Agyan Bay.

Their website describes it as a “jewel of nature” and they absolutely didn’t lie; it’s as perfect as it gets. It’s such an extremely peaceful and quiet place and is easily a favourite for romantic getaways and honeymoons.

Ankobrah Beach Resort - Axim Getaways Part 1

Super brief because this review was completely unplanned, but definitely worth the detour. Ankobrah Beach Resort is a resort on the shores of Axim, about 2 hours away from the Takoradi airport

They’re open for day trips as well, not just overnight stays and they arrange a lot of tours to places like Little and Great Ankobra rivers, Fort Apollonia Museum and the Nzulezu Style Village (the village on the river) and workshops for those interested in trying new things like archery and surfing.

Ike's Cultural Village

Spent a few days in Kumasi and I got to visit the newest hotel around: Ike’s Cultural Village! It’s a boutique hotel located in the Kumasi Cultural Centre, directly opposite Ike’s Cafe and Grill and is a 15-20 minute drive from the Kumasi Airport on a good day.

A boutique hotel is a small stylish hotel and let me just say, I absolutely love the theme - the place is modelled around the clay hut aesthetic, but with a very modern twist.
