An All-Inclusive Weekend In Paris for under €2000

If you’re looking for something different to do with your weekend, and you dont mind spending more than usual, this post is for you!

A weekend trip to Paris on a budget of ¢26,000 is possible - hotel, tickets ands everything included!

First of all, KLM is the most direct KLM is the most direct Accra-Europe flight and has some of the lowest rates. Air France, which is within the same network (SkyTeam airline alliance) and will take you directly to Paris, no transit. Weekend flights tend to be more expensive so you’re looking at $1000 averagely (but there are really great summer deals!). You can also save up to 30% of that price if you travel earlier in the week - I got mine for $790 (full transparency there were some seat upgrades later which cost extra).

Air France lands around 8:00am and immigration checks currently take around 2 hours. Ideally breakfast will be on the go as a result, and €10 should be enough go get you a croissant and cup of tea/coffee before you head to the hotel.

The Eiffel Tower is 40-60 minutes from CDG airport and the closer a hotel is to it, the more expensive it is, especially if you want a view. There are hotels close to the airport that wont break the bank but you’ll need to factor in transport (ubers are around €40, and public transport is roughly half that price). Expand your search radius if you’re on a budget.

I like to wait for the hype to die down before I visit any viral destinations but Dadou has been on my list for a while! The place is so cute! The elevator is floral themed and has bird sounds on repeat (it shakes a bit but dont panic)

I got the “Very Bonne Chambre” room which is €260 (the price can go up to €325 depending on the day).

To save money, get the “Chambre Parisienne” room which is a smaller room which costs €215 (depending on the day! Research!) but you’ll need to pay €50 extra for the spa.

Check in is at 3pm, but they’ll try and accommodate you if you get there early. Alternatively they can keep your bags while you go exploring till it’s check-in time. The selling point for me is definitely the spa with the cinema, that’s what they went viral for. It’s such a vibe.

There are many decent hotels in the area for €200 but no spa, so if that isn’t important to you, book somewhere else. If you want to stay close to the airport, try Moxy. They’re mostly self-catering and it’s a 5 minute shuttle ride to the airport (through the underground tunnel)

Day 1:

If you can, take a short nap after you check in and then head to the Port de la Bourdonnais for your first activity - lunch on the Seine River!

Doesn’t matter how many times you’ve been to Paris, this Seine River Lunch Cruise is definitely an experience you need to book at least once!

The price for this 2 hour cruise starts at €75 and goes up to €115. The prices are determined by the seating area, the regular seats (middle of boat) cost €75, the side/window  seats (the one i got) cost €95, and the round table in the bow of the deck cost €115 per person.

€75 package

  • Welcome glass of white wine

  • Main, Starter, Dessert

  • Bottle of wine for table

  • Bottle of Water

€95 package

  • Welcome glass of champagne

  • Main, Starter, Cheese, Dessert

  • Bottle of wine for table

  • Bottle of Water

€115 package

  • Welcome glass of champagne

  • Main, Starter, Cheese, Dessert

  • Bottle of wine for table

  • Bottle of Water

Even though the wine was listed as one per table, it was basically unlimited.

Departure and arrival are from Port de la Bourdonnais at 12:45pm (be seated by 12:30pm!), and the cruise takes past the most famous sites and monuments like the Eiffel Tower,  Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum etc.

There is a photographer on board to take photos of you for souvenirs at an extra cost.

There is a restroom on the boat, and a comfortable waiting area with lockers on the dock, so you can leave your bags and coats if you need to.

The staff speak English, and personally my experience with them was pleasant.

There are a number of service providers for this activity but click here to book the one I did.

After lunch, you can get on a Big Bus or any other guided tour open-top bus that drives around the city. Prices start from €43. You can get on at any of their stops and get off at any time at any of their stops. The ticket is valid during working hours, 10:00am to 8:30pm.

Dinner on the first night has to be at an authentic French restaurant!Bouillon République comes really highly recommended.

The food is budget friendly (it cost me €31 for a drink, starter, main and dessert) and was extremely flavorful. I love love love duck.

I had the

  • Oyster - €9.90

  • Duck breast with orange sauce, crispy duck fat potatoes  - €12.80

  • Fries - €3

  • Profiteroles - €4.80

  • Cocktail - €6

I wasn’t happy with the service because it took me 15 minutes to be attended to but to be fair it was really busy. When they finally did get round to attending to me, there were pretty friendly. Still, that wit time wasnt ideal.

To end the day, time in the Hamman spa! The Dadou spa is open from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, and you need to reserve a spot because you’re guaranteed privacy.

It’s free with Very Bonne, Very Bonne with Balcony and La Loge room bookings and €50 for Parisienne and Bonne Chambre rooms.

The spa shows short French films (there are about 12 you can pick from) and is open to guests ONLY. It costs €50 to use for 50 minutes.

Day 2:

Breakfast at the hotel (€20) + a walk around the city.

There’s a restaurant inside the Eiffel Tower lunch called Madam Brasserie which is a must visit! Inner table seating costs €60.4 for 3 course basic menu. Add a glass of wine for €10!

(Cocktails cost around €20 and there’s a 3 course menu with a glass of champagne and wine pairing + coffee for €95. Window side tables start from €105 without drinks)

FREE museums to visit after lunch:

  • The Louvre,Musée Rodin,Musée Picasso,Musée d’Orsay & a few others are free on the first Sunday of each month.

  • City Museums (Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris,Musée de la Vie Romantique,Musée Carnavalet etc) are generally free.

For dinner, budget €50. Paris is littered with great restaurants for all budgets. Dadou allows you to order in as well, so you could do that and it’ll cost you €30. You can also walk around and get food from the stalls/shops you see, the chicken in the metal tray cost me €3, and for an extra €2, they gave me an overflow of baby potatoes.

💸€50 including a drink

The sun sets really late now (around 10) but I would 100% recommend walking to the Eiffel Tower to catch the light show. Perfect way to end the trip! (And it’s free!)

The flights to Accra are usually around 11:00am so you need to get there around 8:00am to beat the immigration queues (VERY long!). You can get breakfast at the hotel before you leave or on the go! (€20 or €10).

At the time of this post, €1=¢15 so the total comes up to:

  • Day 1:

Breakfast: €10/¢150

Cruise: €75/¢1125

Big Bus: €43/¢645

  • Day 2:

Hotel: €430/¢6450 (€1=¢15)

There will be a lot of walking (which is what most people do here, especially if you’re a tourist who wants to look around), but budget an extra €50 for your taxis/public transport.

Immigration lines at CDG Airport are always very long, so dont’t forget to try and get to the airport at least 3 hours before your flight!
